Daktronics To Install ProStar Video Displays and Venus 7000 Control System at Historic Olympia Stadion in Berlin.

Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAKT) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Walter Bau AG to provide ProStar(R) full color LED large screen video displays for installation at the Olympia Stadion in Berlin, Germany. The installation of the new LED large screen video displays, scheduled for the summer of 2003, is part of the modernizing of the 90-year-old historic venue being completed by Walter Bau AG. The venue is the home of Hertha BSC Berlin football club, a member of the Bundesliga German professional football league, and is scheduled to host the championship match of the 2006 World Cup.

The agreement calls for Daktronics to design and manufacture for Walter Bau AG two ProStar(R) displays. One will measure approximately 8.8 meters high by 15.8 meters wide (29 feet by 52 feet). The second screen will measure approximately 5.7 meters high by 10.3 meters wide (19 feet by 34 feet). Daktronics Venus(R) 7000 controller and V-Link(R) video processor will operate the large displays. The ProStar(R) screens will use red, blue and green LEDs on 23mm center-to-center spacing to provide high quality video images and other event information in over one billion shades of color.

Daktronics has sold and provided approximately 800 large screen full color LED displays. Recent orders include PSA Peugeot Citroen in Paris, Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Fenway Park in Boston, Soldier Field in Chicago, and Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc.

The Daktronics equipment will be installed before the 2003-2004 Bundesliga season, which begins in August 2003. Daktronics is partnering with I.S.I. GmbH of Koln, Germany for structure and installation work, as well as local service to complete the contract requirements.
