Daktronics ProStar VideoPlus Display Technology to be Part of the New Great American Ball Park.

Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., has been chosen to design and manufacture a large ProStar(R) VideoPlus display system for installation at the new Great American Ball Park, home of Major League Baseball's Cincinnati Reds. The value of the project is approximately $1.5 million, with installation scheduled to be complete by summer 2002. The Great American Ball Park is scheduled to open at the beginning of the 2003 baseball season.

Installed behind left field, the ProStar(R) display will measure approximately 27 feet high by 49 feet wide and provide incredible video images and other information in 68 billion shades of color. Resolution of the video screens will be 352 pixels high by 640 pixels wide, with pixels on 23 mm center-to-center spacing. The powerful and versatile Venus(R) 7000 controller and V-Play(R) video server will be integral components of the display control system.

ProStar(R) systems, using the latest red, green and blue (RGB) light emitting diode (LED) technology, have quickly become one of the most popular large screen video display solutions for sports and entertainment facilities. The ProStar(R) display is one of many great features that Great American Ball Park will offer Reds baseball fans, which also include closer views of the playing field, a wide variety of food, and different entertainment options.
