Daktronics Awarded Design Build Contract to Provide Integrated Display System for Arizona Cardinals New Stadium.

Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAKT) announced it has been chosen to provide an integrated scoring, video and information display system for the new Arizona Tourism and Sports Authority/Cardinals Stadium under construction in Glendale, Ariz.     The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. In 2006, the club began playing all home games at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, a suburb west of Phoenix.

    The south end zone display will measure approximately 32 feet high by 145 feet wide, and will incorporate a Daktronics ProStar(R) VideoPlus display measuring approximately 27 feet high by 96 feet wide. The north end zone scoreboard will measure approximately 27 feet high by 81 feet wide, incorporating a ProStar(R) display measuring approximately 22 feet 6 inches high by 40 feet wide.     Four large fascia displays will provide additional information and images for fans. Each of the electronic displays will measure approximately 3 feet 6 inches high by 50 feet wide, flanked with channel letter advertising signage.

    Daktronics control system components will be used to integrate and operate the Daktronics displays and clocks throughout the facility. Control components will include All Sport(R) game in progress control consoles, Venus(R) 7000 matrix controllers, V-Link(R) video processors, and additional hardware and software to interface, format and automatically display data from the NFL's official statistics provider and other sports data Sports data are typically published online and in newspapers as box scores.     The Cardinals' new home, the site of the 2008 Super Bowl, will have permanent seating for 63,000 fans. The state-of-the-art facility will feature a natural grass field that can be rolled in and out of the facility for various events.
