Daktronics Announces Orders for Collegiate Football Scoring and Video Systems to Be Installed for 2003 Season.

BROOKINGS, S.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 2003

Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:DAKT) announced today new orders for scoring and video display equipment for five collegiate football facilities. The systems are scheduled to be installed and operational for the start of the 2003 football season. The value of the five projects exceeds $4.5 million.

The University of Oklahoma University of Oklahoma, abbreviated OU, is a coeducational public research university located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Founded in 1890, it existed in Oklahoma Territory near Indian Territory 17 years before the two became the state of Oklahoma.  in Norman will upgrade its existing Daktronics ProStar(R) VideoPlus display in Memorial Stadium with the latest generation of ProStar(R) full-color LED display technology. The facility was one of the first Daktronics customers to install ProStar(R) technology in the fall of 1997. The new video screen will measure approximately 21 feet high by 37 feet wide (272 x 480 pixels with pixels on 23mm spacing) and will be installed in the existing scoreboard structure. Modules from the ProStar(R) screen installed in 1997 will be reconfigured into two large ProAd(R) digital advertising and information displays and mounted on the fascia fascia (făsh`ēə), fibrous tissue network located between the skin and the underlying structure of muscle and bone. Fascia is composed of two layers, a superficial layer and a deep layer.  of the stadium. The University is also purchasing additional Galaxy(R) monochrome LED displays for use as a football matrix scoreboard and as a track and field matrix scoreboard.

 Memorial Stadium. The ProStar(R) display will measure approximately 19 feet high by 35 feet wide (272 x 448 pixels with pixels on 23mm spacing).

Fans of the Troy State Trojans, Troy, Ala., will enjoy a new scoring and display system designed and manufactured by Daktronics. The football system will include a custom scoreboard with a ProStar(R) video display (272 x 480 pixels with pixels on 23mm spacing), auxiliary scoreboard, delay of game clocks, and locker room clocks. Two Galaxy(R) 32,000-color marquee displays and a multi-sport track and soccer scoreboard are also included in the project.

. The scoreboard will measure approximately 31 feet high by 66 feet wide and incorporate a large ProStar(R) video display. The video display will measure approximately 24 feet high by 42 feet wide (304 x 544 pixels with pixels on 23mm spacing).

Daktronics will provide a new football scoring and video display system for Ohio University Ohio University, main campus at Athens; state supported; coeducational; chartered 1804, opened 1809 as the first college in the Old Northwest.
