First Phase of Large-Scale JDA Portfolio Project Finishes

Under Budget and Ahead of Schedule at Giant Hypermarket 

JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq: JDAS) announced that Dairy Farm Giant Retail Sdn Bhd, a hypermarket division of $3.7 billion Dairy Farm International Holdings Ltd., successfully completed phase one of its JDA Portfolio(R) project under budget and two weeks early. Dairy Farm Giant is implementing JDA's open, client server Portfolio Merchandise Management(TM) software and Performance Analysis by IDEAS(TM) business intelligence application to support its growing Giant hypermarket chain located throughout Malaysia, Singapore and India.

Phase one of the JDA Portfolio project included a key Giant store and distribution center in Malaysia. From November 2002 through May 2003, Dairy Farm is scheduled to continue to rollout the integrated Portfolio applications that use the Oracle database and operate on a Unix HP server.

In addition to using JDA Portfolio applications at Giant, Dairy Farm relies on various Portfolio applications at its Guardian, Cold Storage, 7-Eleven and Wellcome Supermarket chains.
