Dairy Crest scoops 24 awards at Nantwich.


Dairy Crest Dairy Crest Group plc is a major dairy products company in the United Kingdom. Its brands include Cathedral City cheese (which is made in Davidstow, a place in Cornwall which is not a City and does not have a Cathedral), Utterly Butterly, Vitalite, Clover, St Ivel and FRijj.  has won an impressive 24 awards at this year's Nantwich International Cheese Awards. The highlights include many awards for its Cornish Creamery, Davidstow, with two gold awards for Cathedral City Vintage 20 and Cathedral City Mild, reinforcing its status as the nation, favourite Cheddar brand.

Chris Terrett, General Manager at the Davidstow Creamery, comments; "We are delighted to have had another successful year at Nantwich. This is a great result for our staff and the products they manufacture. The Nantwich Awards are a key fixture in our calendar so it, great to walk away with prizes year after year."

Cathedral City also exclusively trialled its Vintage 60 Cheddar, one of the oldest Cheddars ever m be produced in the UK. Vintage 60 has been matured for five years and has an irresistible ir·re·sis·ti·ble

Dairy Crest also won a number of awards for:

* Wexford Creamery: Gold in the Irish Cheese Category Silver and Bronze in the Single Extra Mature Cheddar Category Bronze in the Single Vegetarian Cheddar Category.

* Crudginton Creamery: Gold and Very Highly Commended in the Block Butter Categor Gold in the Dairy/Butter Spread Category.

* Chard Creamery: Gold and Bronze in the Single Cream Category Silver and Bronze in the Double Cream Category Silver in the Creme n. 1. Cream; - a term used esp. in cookery, names of liqueurs, etc.  Frais Category.
