Dairies lift profits.

THE collapse of a rival business has boosted profits for Robert Wiseman Dairies Robert Wiseman Dairies is a large Scottish milk supplier and ditributor. They are now one of the largest dairy businesses in Great Britain. The company was founded in 1947 using a horse and cart for doorstep deliveries. .

The Glasgow-based firm lifted sales volumes by 10% in the past six months - putting it on course to exceed profit forecasts.

Wiseman increased supplies to the Co-op in June after the Dairy Farmers of Britain Dairy Farmers of Britain (DFoB) is a UK co-operative milk processor that buys milk directly from farmers and has several factories producing milk and cheese products for sale in various regions throughout the UK.  co-operative was closed by receivers.

Its share of business with Tesco also held steady, while Wiseman started supplying an extra 137 Sainsbury Local stores and benefited from deals with Spar wholesalers.

Wiseman said sales of its Fresh'n'Lo discount product had also made good progress.
