Daio Paper to Release Alcohol Towel for Removing Norovirus, O-157 and other Viruses.


Tokyo, Japan, Sept 21, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Daio Paper will release Elleair Alcohol Towel for Virus Removal, a new product in the company's Elleair tissue paper series, on September 21.

The product contains four different antivirus components ethanol, benzalkonium chloride, polyoxyethylene alkylamine and polyhexamethylene biguanide Biguanides (ATC A10 BA) form a class of oral antihyperglycemic drugs used for diabetes mellitus or prediabetes treatment. Examples
Examples of biguanides:
  • metformin - widely used in treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 combined with obesity
 (PHMB PHMB Polyhexamethylene Biguanide ), and can remove not only general bacteria and viruses but also noroviruses that cause a fatal food poisoning.

The new alcohol towel is effective in cleaning kitchen apparatus and nursing-care equipment. One unit (80 sheets) retails for 800 yen ($7.30) and a refill (70 sheets) for 460 yen ($4.20).
