The Multi-purpose Smart Shelf performs an analysis of customers' buying process reading information like how many times customers have actually touched the products before buying. In addition, by using aPOP terminal with a 5-inch LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light. Unenergized, the crystals direct light through two polarizing filters, allowing a natural background color to show. , customers can find out more about the product they are holding.

Dainippon, Tanax and Sears will begin test marketing the Multi-purpose Smart Shelf in December. The product will be on display at the 8th Annual AUTO-ID Security EXPO, being held from September 13 to 15 at Tokyo Big Site.
