) - Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma will release AmBisome 50mg for intravenous drip infusion, an antifungal agent for treating deep-seated mycosis mycosis: see fungal infection.  infection, on June 20.

AmBiosome, which the company has licensed from US company Gilead Sciences, is a liposomal formulation of amphotericin B. It retains the efficacy of amphotericin B while reducing the damage to kidneys.

AmBisome is the only antifungal agent indicated for the treatment of febrile febrile /feb·rile/ (feb´ril) pertaining to or characterized by fever.
