Dain Rauscher Wessels Expands Medical Technology Coverage;

Initiates Ratings On ResMed Inc. and Respironics Inc.

Dain Rauscher Wessels equity analyst David Therkelsen today initiated coverage on two medical technology companies.
-- ResMed Inc. (NYSE:RMD), $51.57, with a Buy-Speculative Risk rating and a
12-month price target of $60. According to Therkelsen, ResMed is a market
leader for products treating sleep disordered breathing, which he estimates is
growing in excess of 15 to 20 percent annually. "ResMed is recognized for its
innovative masks and CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) equipment and
is leading research efforts to expand products for sleep therapy."

-- Respironics Inc. (Nasdaq:RESP), $36.01, with a Strong Buy-Aggressive Risk
rating and a six-month price target of $48. According to Therkelsen,
Respironics is the largest player in the rapidly growing market for the
treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders with approximately 39 percent
market share.
