V-ONE(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: VONE), a leading provider of client/server Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), today announced that Dain Rauscher Corporation, one of the nation's largest full-service securities firms, is using V-ONE's SmartGate(R) VPN to anchor the company's Internet deployments to their Dain Correspondent Services clients.

Dain Rauscher will also be using SmartGate for remote access for employees. The initial deployment of SmartGate will be 2,000 client seats. Laser Technologies, Inc. of Bloomington, Minnesota, a V-ONE reseller specializing in wireless solutions, sold SmartGate to Dain Rauscher.

Dain Rauscher selected SmartGate because of the product's compatibility with the ICA(R) Client from Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS) that enables `thin client' computing. This allows users to run large applications on a central server as though they were residing on the users' PC.

Thin client computing is particularly important when users are seeking access to large applications via limited bandwidth or high-latency networks such as the Internet.
