Daimler-Benz AG Signs Corporate Contract for CADSI Software.

CORAVILLE, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1998--CADSI(R) (Computer Aided Design Software Inc.) today announced that Daimler-Benz AG in Stuttgart, Germany has signed a corporate contract to implement DADS, CATDADS, and PolyFEM within the vehicle division. This contract is applicable to all Daimler-Benz divisions requiring mechanical system simulation software for full vehicle simulation with flexible components. CATDADS provides full dynamic motion simulation embedded in CATIA, and PolyFEM enables engineers to perform structural and thermal analysis directly on their parts in CATIA. As a CAA (CATIA Application Architecture) Strategic Development Partner, CADSI works closely with Dassault Systemes to create seamlessly integrated applications using CATIA development tools. CADSI's expertise with CATIA was an important element in the agreement with Daimler-Benz.

Excellent correlation between the simulation results of a full vehicle with a flexible chassis, and measured test data were essential in the selection of DADS. The results substantiated the value of simulation in the design process and the accuracy of CADSI's software as a core design simulation tool. Daimler-Benz plans extensive use of CADSI's Consulting and Training services to assure rapid and effective deployment of the simulation software.

The objective of the vehicle division is to promote design simulation technology internally and extend its use in other divisions including Truck, Bus, and Advanced Research. CADSI's simulation software is currently used for many vehicle applications including suspension design, engine valve train and cam design, comfort and handling studies, and more.
