Daily Post comment: Galloway's logic warped by hatred.PEOPLE may disagree with Verb 1. disagree with - not be very easily digestible; "Spicy food disagrees with some people" hurt - give trouble or pain to; "This exercise will hurt your back" the American involvement in Iraq -- and millions do -- and they may even feel vindicated by events subsequent to the ill-conceived invasion. But there is something particularly disagreeable about the way our very own ``firebrand fire·brand n. 1. A person who stirs up trouble or kindles a revolt. 2. A piece of burning wood. firebrand Noun cleric'', Glasgow Kelvin Glasgow Kelvin may mean or refer to:
Not just disagreeable, but illogical (or with the logic of a fanatic), as he claims he'd be only too happy to see US troops remain in Iraq, since they'll get a ``bloody good hiding''. Charming. He doesn't think they should be there, but, irrespective of irrespective of prep. Without consideration of; regardless of. irrespective of preposition despite the damage they may be doing by remaining, he'll still tailor his objections to fit his vindictive and bitter prejudices. He just can't wait to see the country he professes to love descend into anarchy and bloodshed just so his hatred of America is appeased. His prediction that democratic elections planned for January will not take place as the security situation continues to deteriorate -- with the end result being bad news for coalition countries and their troops -- is wishful thinking wishful thinking Psychology Dereitic thought that a thing or event should have a specified outcome . It may happen anyway, but he seems to be willing it to happen. And apparently he no longer believes either that a two-state solution to the Middle East dispute is possible. Wishful thinking again? Would peace be a disaster for Mr Galloway personally and ``professionally''? Almost certainly. ``As an enemy of American imperialism, '' he says, ``in a perverse way I'd be quite happy for them to stay there (in Iraq), because if they stayed there they're going to get a bloody good hiding. ``And when the Vietnamese people gave them a bloody good hiding 30 years ago it was a long time before they invaded anywhere else. '' Is that so? To most political observers it seems like America has done little but poke its nose in where it's not wanted for the past 30 years. The result is, of course, Chile, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Palestine and Saudi Arabia today, to name but a few. Still, he's right about one thing: It is perverse. No, worse than that, it's obscene. |
