Daiichi Pure Chemical Launches Reagent Kit for Measuring Human Multimeric Adiponectin.Tokyo, Japan, July 19, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN - Japan Corporate News Network) - Daiichi Pure Chemical announced on July 14 that it has launched a reagent kit for measuring multimeric adiponenctin in the blood plasma and serum, which the company has developed in collaboration with University of Tokyo Professor Takashi Kadowaki. Based on the enzyme-linked immunosorbent immunosorbent /im·mu·no·sor·bent/ (-sor´bent) an insoluble support for antigen or antibody used to absorb homologous antibodies or antigens, respectively, from a mixture; the antibodies or antigens so removed may then be eluted in pure form. im·mu·no·sor·bent assay (ELISA) technique, Human Multimeric Adiponectin Fractional Measurement Kit can simultaneously measure the total amount and each fraction (high-, middle- or low-molecular) of adiponectin without thermal pretreatment. One package containing 96 tests sells for 115,200 yen ($1,040). The company expects that the new product will contribute to researches on diabetes and arterial sclerosis.
