Daei suing Toyota for airbag failure.

Soccer coach Ali Daei is suing Toyota because the airbags in his SUV did not deploy during his recent highway accident.

Daei's brother, Mohammad, who was with Daei at the time of crash just before Now Ruz, was quoted by the Fars news agency as announcing the suit.

Daei, 42, was returning to Tehran from a game in Esfahan March 17 with his brother and a member of the coaching for the team Rah Ahan, of which Daei is now the head coach.

His Toyota Prado went off the highway and rolled over. Daei received head injuries from which he is now recovering.

Mohammad Daei said the family had refrained from sending the SUV to be repaired so they could prove that none of its air bags worked.

Mohammad said of his brother, "He is driving his Porsche now and is divorced from the Toyota for the time being."

Rah Ahan, based in the Rey district of Tehran, finished 15th in the 18-team league last season before Daei was hired. With just three games left to play this season, Rah Ahan is still in 15th place. The teams that end up in 16th, 17th and 18th place at the end of the season each year are relegated to a lower league.
