Dade Behring's RxL Max Now Commercially Available Throughout the World.

Dade Behring Holdings, Inc. announced that its Dimension(R) RxL Max(TM) instrument, introduced at the 2002 meeting of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC), is now commercially available throughout the world. The RxL Max clinical chemistry instrument is the most current evolutionary step in Dade Behring's Dimension line of instruments.

The RxL Max was introduced in the U.S. in August 2002; with its introduction in June 2003 at the IFCC Euromed congress in Barcelona, the instrument is available worldwide. Benefits include hardware and software enhancements to the Dimension RxL platform, such as a touch screen Operator Interface providing immediate access to sample information for STATs and abnormal specimens, of particular importance for requests from the Emergency Department or Intensive Care units. The screen also offers visual early warning alerts for reagent inventory, calibration and supply needs, of workflow benefit to labs. Enhanced software provides the capability to electronically transfer and store QC (Quality Control) and patient test results. RxL Max also offers a more than 35 percent increase in the number of Basic Metabolic Panels (BMP) that can be processed per hour. Inclusion of a Smart sample integrity check function further contributes to assuring the quality of test results, by identifying samples with common interferents such as hemolysis, icterus or lipemia and flagging individual test results that may be affected.

Further workflow enhancements are available with addition of the RxL Max Suite(TM), which allows customers to select combinations among modules that can be integrated with the RxL Max. These include:

-- A reagent management system that doubles the onboard reagent

capacity of the RxL Max;

-- A sample transfer module that provides connectivity to the

StreamLAB(TM) analytical workcell for laboratories with

higher volume need.

-- A DBNet(TM) PC Station and application package that offers

improved sample management tools to streamline laboratory

workflow.
