Dad had 1000 'pills' at home; JAIL FOR 4 YEARS FOR DRUG SUPPLIER.Byline: ERYL CRUMP A MAN who thought he was selling ecstasy tablets has been jailed for four years. Simon Robert Dormain, of Pentrefelin, Amlwch, had denied having more than 1,000 imitation ecstasy tablets in his possession. These tablets mimicked the effects of the illegal, class A drug but he was selling them as if they were ecstasy tablets, a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court heard yesterday. The 27-year-old also denied having 61 real ecstasy tablets with intent to supply to others. After a three day trial earlier this month a jury found the father of a young child guilty of attempted possession of 1,011 tablets and possession of class A drugs with intent to supply. He had already pleaded guilty to possession of a quantity of amphetamine amphetamine (ămfĕt`əmēn), any one of a group of drugs that are powerful central nervous system stimulants. Amphetamines have stimulating effects opposite to the effects of depressants such as alcohol, narcotics, and barbiturates. and cultivating cannabis. The court heard yesterday nine cannabis plants had been found in the loft of his home in Amlwch The trial judge adjourned sentence until yesterday for reports to be prepared. Jailing him for a total of four years Judge Merfyn Hughes QC said: It is well known that class A drugs are the most dangerous of all. "Those involved in the supply of illegal drugs, at whatever level, if they are caught can expect substantial sentences of imprisonment Imprisonment See also Isolation. You were convicted of having 61 ecstasy tablets in your possession and I am quite satisfied you were a commercial supplier. You believed the other tablets were ecstasy and I am also satisfied you would have sold them as such. I recognise these tablets are less harmful than ecstasy but nevertheless you stood to make a substantial profit from their sale. Dormain was sentenced to four years for possessing drugs with intent to supply. He was also handed an eight month term for the other charges.
