Dad's day events.


Visitors to the Stephenson Railway Museum are in for a treat on Sunday it holds a fantastic fun day to celebrate Father's Day.

In celebration of the special day the museum is offering a chance for visitors to learn circus skills Circus skills are a group of pursuits that were traditionally used as a form of entertainment in circus, sideshow, busking or variety/vaudeville/music hall shows. While most circus skills are still being performed today, many are practiced by non-performers as a hobby.  such as plate spinning and juggling, with Circus Buzerkus.

Lewis Lycett, manager at Stephenson Railway Museum, said: "Our Father's Day treat is always a popular event and on the day visitors will also be able try their hand at some circus skills, which is something that

everyone can enjoy."

Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience the museum's exciting hands-on exhibition The Electric Century and explore the fascinating journey of electricity through the ages from lightbulbs to microchips.

There is also an interactive multimedia display explaining the history of the Harton Electric Railway, in South Shields South Shields, city (1991 pop. 86,488), South Tyneside, NE England, at the mouth of the Tyne River. The museum is open on a seasonal basis until Sunday September 26. Museum opening times: Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays 11am-4pm. Tuesday to Thursday 11am-3pm.
