Ultra-safe Illumina[TM] Burner Control Knobs give users complete control of each cooking mode, so gourmet results can be safely achieved. The LED knobs glow in the brand's signature "flame-blue" when a burner is activated, visually indicating when the burner is in the "on" position, even when the flame is barely detectable at the lowest simmer setting.

High-performing precision SimmerSear[TM] Burners with a special melting feature provide professional-level accuracy over a wide range of cooking temperatures, so every sear, saute and simmer is perfect. Rated at 18,000 BTU, the increased power of the SimmerSear Burners delivers boiling times that are faster than the competition, due to higher energy output. In addition, the dual-valve burners offer even greater accuracy and control while simmering, so delicate chocolate and fragile butter never scorch.

Each cooktop model features continuous platform grates that make maneuvering pots and pans around the burners a simple task. The Epicure 48" cooktop includes three 14" grates and the Epicure 36" cooktop includes one 14" grate and two 10" grates. The heavy-duty cast iron grates extend to the sides of the cooktop to create a larger cooking surface and sit on four rubber feet so they can be safely transported from cooktop to countertop without damaging surfaces. A one-piece sealed cooktop spill basin sits underneath each pair of burners to catch any food or grease that falls through.

Both models come with a removable griddle and wok ring that complement the updated grate design and can be easily removed for effortless cleaning or stored away when not in use. Optional grill and wok accessories provide users with the tools to be completely creative in the kitchen.

The new Epicure cooktops are available for LP or natural gas connections, equipped with sealed burners for easy cleaning and simple maintenance and can be installed anywhere in the kitchen - built into an island, peninsula or along the wall. High-altitude versions are also available. Classic commercial-inspired Epicure stainless steel styling offers the choice of four trim color options of chrome, brass, copper, or black chrome that allow a consumer's personal style to shine through.

The Epicure 48" and 36" gas cooktops are scheduled to be released to authorized Dacor dealers in June 2007.
