DYNAMICS RESEARCH CORPORATION AWARDED U.S. AIR FORCE CONTRACTS VALUED AT $23 MILLION.The U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center has exercised one-year renewal options, effective April 1, 2001, on two information technology service prime contracts with DRC DRC - Daily Readiness Check DRC - Daily Record Card (clinical trials) DRC - Dancing Robot Contest (Robot Battle tournament) DRC - Danish Refugee Council DRC - Dark Rum & Coke DRC - Dartmouth Research & Consulting DRC - Data Rate Clock (Symmerticom) DRC - Data Rate Control DRC - Data Re-Use Counter (Sprint) DRC - Data Record Control DRC - Data Reduction Center DRC - Data Relay Console DRC - Data Review Committee DRC - Data Routing Control. Revenues from the two renewed contracts are expected to be $23 million over the one-year renewal period, up from $21 million over the previous year. The Electronic Systems Center, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass., is responsible for the development and acquisition of the Air Force's command and control systems. DRC is one of the largest suppliers under the center's information technology services program, providing acquisition management, systems engineering, systems integration, test, evaluation and computer-based training services. The newly exercised options were on contracts, which support the Combat Air Forces air forces, those portions of a nation's military organization employing heavier-than-air aircraft for reconnaissance, support of ground troops, aerial combat, and bombing of enemy lines of communication and targets of industrial and military importance. Early Military Use of AircraftThe history of air forces begins with the use of balloons by French forces in Italy in 1859 and by Union forces in the U.S. Civil War. and Military Satellite Communications program offices.
