DYNAIR TELECOMMUNICATIONS FORMED TO INSTALL AIRBORNE PHONE AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS

 RESTON, Va., Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- DynAir, a unit of DynCorp, a professional and technical services firm headquartered in Reston, has formed DynAir Telecommunications as a subsidiary of its aviation maintenance center in Phoenix. The unit will specialize in the installation of in-flight phone systems and video entertainment systems, including seat back video screens to display movies, video games, news, stock market quotations and other information. On some networks, passengers will be able to order products directly from a "video catalog."
 Heading up the venture is Jim Whomble, who has 19 years experience in aircraft interior customizations and airborne electronics systems installation. According to DynAir President Dick Webb "DynAir Telecommunications, headed by Jim and his premier team, will provide professional and reliable installations of these systems. The results will benefit the airlines, product manufacturers and, not least of all, the airline passenger."
 DynAir is one of the largest aviation support organizations in the United States. With 4,500 employees at 60 airports nationwide, DynAir provides maintenance, ramp, passenger and cargo services, into-plane fueling, avionics repair, and technical and professional consulting services for domestic and international carriers, lessors, financial institutions and operators. The parent company, DynCorp, is a majority employee-owned professional and technical services firm with operations worldwide.
