DY-4 SYSTEMS AND NEWBRIDGE MICROSYSTEMS SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

 KANATA, Ontario, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- DY-4 Systems and Newbridge Networks Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: NNCXF) through its division, Newbridge Microsystems, have signed a memorandum of understanding under which the companies will co-operatively develop and sell Openbus(TM) interface chips. These components bring together Newbridge Microsystems semiconductor expertise and DY-4 Systems leadership in VME technology. Newbridge Microsystems will manufacture, market and sell these components through its existing distribution channels. The two companies will also co-operate on the development of more advanced VMEbus and Futurebus+ components for external sale and for use in DY-4 Systems card level products.
 Adam Chowaniec, general manager of Newbridge Microsystems commented, "These components are an important addition to our Openbus product line. The interface chips are used extensively by single board computer manufacturers in both commercial and military applications. We intend to become leaders in this market by applying both companies' technologies to future product development."
