DWP DISCLOSES PLAN FOR `GREEN' ELECTRICITY.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is the largest municipal utility in the United States, serving 3.9 million residents in 2006. It was founded in 1902 to deliver water and electricity supplies to residents and businesses in Los Angeles.  unveiled a plan on Thursday to entice customers to pay extra for clean energy and wean wean (wen) to discontinue breast feeding and substitute other feeding habits.

Under the plan, customers would have the option of buying about 20 percent of their electricity from clean sources such as solar or wind generators. ``Green'' electricity would add 6 percent, or about $3 per month, to the typical customer's bill.

In return, participants would receive discounts and low-interest loans to buy solar energy systems and energy-saving devices such as refrigerators and air conditioners engineered to use little electricity.

``We wanted a green-power program that's not just for the rich,'' said S. David Freeman S. Officials at the city-owned utility expect about 100,000 of Los Angeles' 3.6 million customers to sign up for the program over the next 12 months. They expect 200,000 participants within three years.
