PINEAPPLE EXPRESS (18) *****

Yet another laddish laddish
Adjective

Brit, Austral & NZ informal, often derogatory characteristic of young men, esp. by being rowdy or immature
comedy from Judd Apatow and friends - the team behind Superbad, Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin - who seem to be Hollywood's ultimate workaholics.

This time it's a stoner ston·er

comedy which seamlessly blends action thriller and slacker movie in a tale of superskunk, nasty dealers, murder and an old-fashioned stint on the run.

Dale Denton (Seth Rogan) and Saul Silver (James Franco) play a luckless waster and his drug dealer who accidentally stumble into the middle of a turf war between two drug gangs. Throw in corrupt cops and it sounds like a typical action movie.

But the source of the charm is that rather than the usual tough, cool heroes at the centre of it all, we have two morons. They are average guys who spend their days smoking weed and talking rubbish - but suddenly they're surrounded by guns and explosions.

There is an incredible sweetness to this film thanks to the growing relationship between the two central characters as they go on the run.

Their ridiculous actions and crazy mistakes are acceptable because they are so likeable and the funny script keeps you immersed in the situation.

James Franco is a revelation in a comedy role and is doubtless destined des·tine

This silly old comedy is being churned out on re-release for no good reason.

Daryl Hannah, Steve Guttenberg and Peter O'Toole star in this tale of an old Irish hotel which is billed as a haunted house A haunted house is defined as building that is believed to be a center for supernatural occurrences or paranormal phenomena.[1] A haunted house may contain ghosts, poltergeists, or even malevolent entities.  by the owner - only because he is desperate to sell it, of course. He persuades his staff to dress up and flounce around acting as the world's worst fake ghosts - but things go wrong when a bunch of real ghouls turn up.

Kids will no doubt enjoy it but, for anyone over the age of 14, it will be difficult to sit through without the help of your leftover festive booze.
