DVD EXPRESS Names Former Blockbuster, Alamo Exec Andy Crist as Its CFO/COO.


LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 1999--DVD EXPRESS, the largest online video retailer, Tuesday announced that former Blockbuster Vice President of Financial Operations Andy Crist has joined the company as its chief financial officer/chief operating officer, a new position.

As vice president of financial operations/mergers & acquisitions for Dallas-based Blockbuster Entertainment Group, Crist developed the company's first comprehensive system to measure retail product profitability, and other major supply chain improvements. He was also responsible for the company's domestic and overseas expansion programs.

Prior to joining Blockbuster in 1996, Crist was executive director of international development for Alamo Rent A Car Alamo Rent A Car is a car rental agency. It is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but has branches across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America, parts of Africa, Europe, and Australia as well as some locations on various Caribbean islands. , a company with which he enjoyed a 10-year relationship.
