In order for a film to qualify for the Spirit Awards, it must have been made on a low budget and show original, provocative subject matter. Portions of the awards show and interviews with winners will be televised on cable television channel Bravo on Monday. Winners in a dozen categories were selected by the 8,500-member Independent Feature Project.
