DUP head south in language demo.

MEMBERS of the Rev Ian Paisley's DUP DUP (in Northern Ireland) Democratic Unionist Party  staged a protest in Dublin yesterday at the continuation of the cross-border body which promotes the Irish language Irish language, also called Irish Gaelic and Erse, member of the Goidelic group of the Celtic subfamily of the Indo-European family of languages (see Celtic languages). .

An Foras Teanga was one of a number of bodies which carried on after the sus- pension of the power-sharing executive.

Mr McCrea said he was not opposed to anybody learning Irish, but that the terms by which the body was con- tinuing were wrong.
