 couple has pleaded not guilty to murder and child abuse charges in the beating death of their 2-year-old son.

Aprill Starr, 36, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of murder and child abuse resulting in death. Two days earlier, Michael Shires, 25, pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and assault on a child resulting in death.
