"I am at JJB Premiership games all the time during the eircom League's off-season, so I am keeping a keen interest in players based in Northern Ireland. "I have watched Linfield, Newry, Glentoran and Cliftonville in recent weeks. I am keeping a close eye on the Irish League and we'll see what happens in the January transfer window. "The benefit of the eircom League is that you can offer part-time players in the Irish League full-time deals, but we'll see what develops." Connor has a history of showing faith in Irish League players - he took Tim McCann and Paul Brown to Sligo Rovers during his spell at the north west club. He also showed a keen interest in Cliftonville midfielder Conor Downey and Glentoran striker Gary Hamilton during his time as manager of Bohemians. Crues star Donnelly, who joined the Seaview club in the summer after returning home from Sheffield United, has yet to sign a new contract with the club. Blues boss David Jeffrey is a known admirer of the left-winger and is reportedly keen to attract the former Northern Ireland U21 star on a pre-contract. Linfield and Derry City are also being linked with Limavady United midfielder McIlmoyle.
