City and community leaders joined Leviev Boymelgreen and Alisa Construction Company to celebrate the topping-out of DUMBO's tallest building, Beacon Tower, located at 85 Adams Street. The event, hosted by Leviev Boymelgreen Director of Development, Sara Mirski, and Alisa Construction COO, Sam Boymelgreen, marked the completion of steel, concrete and enclosure for the sleek 23-story, 115,000-s/f luxury condominium condominium

"Leviev Boymelgreen is known for its ability to recognize a neighborhood's potential and act quickly to help shape its progress. DUMBO has become a spectacular place to live, work and raise a family, and we are delighted to be a part of that growth," said Shaya Boymelgreen, president of Leviev Boymelgreen. "I want to thank each and every person who helped make this topping-out possible, especially New York New York, state, United States

Home to a stock of turn-of-the century warehouses and industrial buildings, the neighborhood has become a natural alternative, and in some cases a preferred destination, for a multitude of purchasers seeking quality new construction or converted warehouse condominiums.

The design team consulted Benjamin Huntington Benjamin Huntington (April 19, 1736 – October 16, 1800) was an American lawyer, jurist and politician from Norwich, Connecticut. He served in the Revolutionary War with the rank of General. , a nationally recognized Feng Shui consultant and designer, when designing the interior and exterior spaces.

The design team says special care was taken during the design phase to minimize the impact of noise on residents of Beacon Tower. The design team worked with Shen Shen, in the Bible, place, perhaps close to Bethel, near which Samuel set up the stone Ebenezer.  Milsom Wilke, a New York-based acoustical design firm, to evaluate and measure the site noise. Since windows are the weakest of all barriers to noise, the team developed an innovative window assembly, featuring heavy panes of laminated glass Noun 1. laminated glass - glass made with plates of plastic or resin or other material between two sheets of glass to prevent shattering

Crowning Beacon Tower will be a unique exterior lighting fixture--a beacon--designed by Fisher Marantz Stone, which will emphasize the sculptural forms at the top of the building. The design will feature continuous rows of watertight linear fluorescent lights which will graze the underside of angled louvers, defining the architectural planes and curves, thus making the building's form glow in the night's sky.

"The panoramic city views from Beacon Tower will be phenomenal, but the view of the building will also be stunning," said Barry Citrin of Fisher Marantz Stone. "Each night the top of the building will be transformed into a beacon of light visible from distant points throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan."

Leviev Boymelgreen purchased the land at 85 Adams Street from Bill Gold, owner of Excalibur Foundry, which had previously occupied the site. Gold's new foundry is creating signature steel artwork for the entry and lobby of Beacon Tower.

"I wish to congratulate our dedicated team members on this achievement," said Sam Boymelgreen, COO of Alisa Construction. "Beacon Tower will truly be one of DUMBO's premier residential properties upon completion, and we are proud to contribute to the vibrancy and overall quality of life in this dynamic Brooklyn community."

Beacon Tower is located on Adams Street between York and Pearl Streets. The condominium will be managed by Taube Management, Inc. In addition to views, the building will have a 24-hour concierge, fitness center, landscaped rooftop terraces, a private garden, exquisite fixtures and finishes and below-grade parking.

Occupancy is expected in the Fall of 2006.
