McDonald, who redshirted last season, was arrested at 2:10 a.m., according to Newport Beach police sergeant Steve Shulman. Carroll said he wouldn't reveal any measures he might take against McDonald. The Newport Harbor High graduate completed five of six passes for 59 yards in USC's official spring scrimmage last month.

``I'd rather not have anything come up like this,'' Carroll said. ``It's a tremendous reminder of the awareness kids need to have.''
