Mighty Ducks is a half-hour Disney animated series aired on ABC and The Disney Afternoon in the fall of 1996. Twenty-six episodes total were produced.

Defenseman Kevin Hatcher took a pass from Jagr and beat Shtalenkov on a 30-foot slap shot to put Pittsburgh up 3-2 at 6:16 of the second.

Shortly afterward, the Ducks' Bobby Dollas drew a four-minute penalty for high-sticking Alex Hicks, and Nedved cashed in with a power-play goal at 8:44, bearing down on the right side and sliding the puck under Shtalenkov on the stick side.

After Teemu Selanne scored his 18th goal, pulling the Ducks within 4-3, Joe Dziedzic built the Pittsburgh lead back to two with his first goal of the season at 16:25.

Lemieux made it 6-3 early in the third period with his 15th goal, with Jagr getting his second assist of the game. Lemieux then assisted on Nedved's 16th goal, 12:48 into the period.

Hicks had drawn Pittsburgh even at 2-2 just 27 seconds into the second period, scoring from outside the crease when the Ducks failed to clear the puck.

Paul Kariya scored his 10th goal and Jari Kurri added another goal to stake the Ducks to a 2-1 lead in the first period.

Lemieux put the Penguins on the board first, scoring 3:10 into the game.
