Defenseman Kevin Hatcher took a pass from Jagr and beat Shtalenkov on a 30-foot slap shot to put Pittsburgh up 3-2 at 6:16 of the second. Shortly afterward, the Ducks' Bobby Dollas drew a four-minute penalty for high-sticking Alex Hicks, and Nedved cashed in with a power-play goal at 8:44, bearing down on the right side and sliding the puck under Shtalenkov on the stick side. After Teemu Selanne scored his 18th goal, pulling the Ducks within 4-3, Joe Dziedzic built the Pittsburgh lead back to two with his first goal of the season at 16:25.
