The struggling Mighty Ducks met a hot goalie Wednesday with predictable results.

Tom Barrasso earned his fourth shutout in his last five road games and Jaromir Jagr scored twice in the first period as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Ducks 3-0 at the Pond.

Barrasso made 28 saves en route to his fifth shutout of the season and 28th of his 15-year career, third among active NHL goaltenders. The only shot he has failed to stop in his last 311 minutes on the road was Vladimir Tsyplakov's tap-in, during a goal-mouth scramble in the second period of Tuesday night's 2-1 victory over the Kings.

New Jersey 4, Edmonton 2: Backup goaltender Mike Dunham made 27 saves and gave the Devils a rare win without Martin Brodeur, at New Jersey.

Calgary 4, N.Y. Rangers 1: Rick Tabaracci made 30 saves to pace the Flames at New York.

Florida 5, Carolina 2: Robert Svehla scored a goal and added two assists as the visiting Panthers struck for three second-period goals in a span of 5:21.

Phoenix 3, Chicago 3: Keith Tkachuk scored a power-play goal with 7:23 left in regulation as the Coyotes rallied to tie at Chicago.

Dallas 3, Tampa Bay 0: Ed Belfour had to stop only 12 shots for his franchise-record seventh shutout and Sergei Zubov had a goal and an assist as the Stars extended their home winning streak to seven.

Montreal 4, St. Louis: Vincent Damphousse scored 55 seconds into overtime to cap the Canadiens' comeback from a three-goal deficit at Montreal.

Colorado 2, Toronto 2: Patrick Roy made 51 saves, including four during a five-second span midway through the third period of the Avalanche's tie at Toronto.

Washington 3, San Jose 3: Peter Bondra's power-play goal with 28 seconds left in the third period, his second of the game, gave the visiting Capitals a tie at San Jose.
