Daze's 18th goal tied the score 2-2 with 3:55 left in the second period, beating Mikhail Shtalenkov low to the glove side with a 25-footer from the slot. The Ducks took a 2-1 lead at 5:50 of the second period after a questionable penalty against Chicago's Jim Cummins for goaltender interference. Cummins collided with Shtalenkov in the crease as he gloved Craven's sharp-angle shot. Cummins got an additional 10-minute misconduct 26 seconds later from referee Mark Faucette after continuing his argument from the penalty box. Just 32 seconds later, Kariya converted Rucchin's centering feed to become the first player in Ducks history with consecutive 40-goal seasons.
