DUBLIN BUS TRAGEDY: THE VICTIMS: KATHLEEN GILTON - Killed out shopping.


KATHLEEN, 69, died just inches from her daughter, Nuala, who was last night fighting for her life in hospital.

She was killed instantly but Nuala is believed to have been pushed clear.

 Catholic, Mrs Gilton went to mass every day and was on her weekly shopping trip to the capital.

At her home in Newtown, Maynooth, Co Kildare, her family are still trying to come to terms with their loss.

A friend said: "This is very hard on everyone, especially the younger ones who are getting very upset when they hear about it on the radio.

"Kathleen was a lovely woman and everyone loved her."

Her friend Laura Hickey added: "Kathleen was just great.

"She worked in Maynooth College and was loved by everyone. We can't get over what happened to her." And Maynooth parish curate CURATE, eccl. law. One who represents the incumbent of a church, person, or20 vicar, and takes care of the church, and performs divine service in his stead.  Father Paul Coyle said that prayers were offered for Kathleen and her family at every mass in the parish.

Fr Coyle added: "We are all shocked and saddened by this terrible tragedy.

"The whole community has come together and everyone has been praying and lighting candles.

"Kathleen was a very caring woman and was at 10am mass every day.

"She had a lot of friends and I know she will be sadly missed."
