Medaglia d'Oro will start from the outside and Pleasantly Perfect Pleasantly Perfect (born April 2, 1998 in Lexington, Kentucky) is a Thoroughbred racehorse who retired as the fourth richest American horse in career earnings. A son of Pleasant Colony, winner of the 1981 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, he was out of the mare Regal State who  from the middle of a 12-horse field entered for the $6 million Dubai World Cup The Dubai World Cup is a Thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1996 at the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The race is operated through the Emirates Horse Racing Authority (EHRA) whose Chairman is Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, , the richest thoroughbred race.

Medaglia d'Oro drew the unfavorable No. 11 post, and Pleasantly Perfect will leave from the No. 7 gate in the nearly 1 1/4 mile race at Nad al Sheba in Dubai, which will be run at 9:20 a.m. PST PST Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, see there  Saturday. Betting is not allowed in Dubai because of its Islamic laws, but English bookmaker William Hill lists Medaglia d'Oro and Pleasantly Perfect as co-favorites at 9-4. Victory Moon, winner of five of seven races at Nad al Sheba, was next at 7-2.

Santa Anita will take bets on the Dubai World Cup this afternoon and Saturday morning, when the six-race Nad al Sheba card is scheduled to be shown on televisions at Clockers' Corner starting at 5:40 a.m.

Medaglia d'Oro is coming off a victory in the Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park last month. Pleasantly Perfect won the San Antonio Handicap The San Antonio Handicap is a race for thoroughbred horses run at Santa Anita Park each year. The race is open to horses, age three and up, willing to race one and one-eighth miles on the dirt. The Grade II event offers a purse of $250,000.

Two other California-based horses are in the field - Japan Cup winner Fleetstreet Dancer and Strub Stakes winner Domestic Dispute.

Domestic Dispute, ridden by Gary Stevens, will leave from the inside post.

``Well, it's the shortest way around, isn't it?'' trainer Patrick Gallagher said of the path closest to the rail. ``You'd like to be a little more outside, but you've got to take the luck of the draw and make the best of it. We've got a horse who looks like he has a chance.''

Also entered are King's Boy, Admire Don, Dinyeper, Regent Bluff, Silent Deal, Grand Hombre, Victory Moon and State Shinto.
