DTS to Distribute IBM Content Management Product Line in Brazil; IBM's Solution 'An Evolution for Management of Documents' says DTS's Parra.

DTS (1) (Digital Theatre Sound) A digital audio encoding system used in movie and home theaters. Popularized by the movie Jurassic Park, the six-channel (5.  Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies.  Software (www.dtslatin.com) said today that it has entered into partnership with IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  to distribute the IBM(R) Content Management solution in Brazil.

Fernando Parra, founder and president of DTS, said the IBM solutions automate processes and store documents in an electronic format using Imaging, Workflow, COLD/ERM and Document Management technology. DTS is the leading value-added distributor of integrated application development technology solutions and other enterprise software to corporate, financial and government users in Latin America.

Components of the integrated IBM Content Management solution available through DTS include:

Content Manager -- Recently introduced by IBM, Content Manager is an application that assists companies in managing large volumes of non-structured information, such as any type of digital content (text, images, video, audio, graphics or Web pages. According to Rogerio Inomata, IBM's Latin America Solutions Manager for Content Management, the application provides a cost reduction, an increase in productivity, and is already being utilized by the Vatican and Brazilian Senate libraries. He said Content Manager is an evolution of imaging systems and a new version of ImagePlus VisualInfo, utilized to store and index scanned documents, such as letters, contracts, fax, checks, forms, etc.;

CM On Demand -- An application based on COLD (Computer Output to Laser Disk Computer Output to Laser Disk - Enterprise Report Management ) or ERM (Enterprise Relationship Management) An umbrella term with many shades of meaning over the years. It may refer to the management of information from any or all of an organization's customers, suppliers, business partners and employees.  (Enterprise Report Management) provides access to computer reports originally printed or microfilmed. Among the advantages of CM On Demand as compared with print or microfilmed reports are multi-user access, decrease in storage space, and reduced costs in printing and distribution. In addition, with CM On Demand, users can gain access to valuable information through data mining and analysis.

MQ Series Workflow - The MQ Series Workflow automates execution of workflow, integrating processes in various applications and platforms. The processes are projected on a graphic interface, which is also used to monitor their execution, enabling users to receive the correct information, at the correct time and at lower cost.
