He was formerly Director of Advanced Product Development at Arris Interactive.

Mitchell has been in the electronics industry for more than 30 years, working for computer and communications companies in the design and development of next-generation products. A senior member of the IEEE, Mitchell earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and a M.S. degree in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University Pennsylvania State University, main campus at University Park, State College; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1855, opened 1859 as Farmers' High School. .
