SUPERCOMM 2002

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2002

DSET DSET Desert Sunshine Exposure Testing Inc.  Corp., (NASDAQ NASDAQ

: DSET) the industry's premier source of electronic gateways and IP provisioning solutions for global, multi-vendor networks, announced today the release of IPSource 2.2, the latest version of its innovative and high performance IP provisioning platform that enables service providers to deliver new services to customers quickly, reliably and at dramatically lower cost.

IPSource 2.2, formerly named UPX UPX Ultimate Packer for eXecutables
UPX Ulead Photo Express
(Universal Provisioning eXchange), was recently renamed to better define the platform's advanced capabilities. DSET will be demonstrating this highly scalable, carrier-class next generation provisioning platform at SUPERCOMM in Booth #21346.

IPSource supports real-time and error-free Layer 3 MPLS (1) (MultiProtocol Lambda Switching) The earlier name for GMPLS. See GMPLS.

(2) (MultiProtocol Label Switching) A standard from the IETF for including routing information in the packets of an IP network.

This new version lets service providers generate increased revenue by defining services tailored to meet their customers' specific requirements. Service providers can customize the pre-defined IP service modules on the IPSource platform to create "branded" service offerings with features they choose to include. For example, quality of service (QoS) capabilities can be optionally integrated into offerings based on the way service providers choose to define their IP VPN services.

The solution offers new capabilities for rapidly configuring and managing network devices, including creation of configuration templates that can be applied across the entire network. With IPSource, users also can easily and quickly detect any changes in the network so they can take corrective action A corrective action is a change implemented to address a weakness identified in a management system. Normally corrective actions are instigated in response to a customer complaint, abnormal levels if internal nonconformity, nonconformities identified during an internal audit or , assuring quality of service and minimizing potential service disruption disruption /dis·rup·tion/ (dis-rup´shun) a morphologic defect resulting from the extrinsic breakdown of, or interference with, a developmental process. .

Service providers can now easily offer end-to-end automation of the service provisioning process by using IPSource's new module for service-request management that easily integrates with their front-end order-management/sales-management systems. This enables service providers to better manage service/order requests, assign resources and activate devices on the network in a totally flow-through and error-free manner.

IPSource supports multi-vendor networks, enabling providers to meet customers' service requirements without the constraints CONSTRAINTS - A language for solving constraints using value inference.

since providers can introduce and maintain services with a reduced IT staff, with minimal training required.

Additional enhancements in IPSource 2.2 include improved workflow capabilities and easy to use web-based GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. "IPSource 2.2 illustrates DSET's commitment to continuously deliver solutions that meet the fast-changing and critical demands of today's telecom environment," said Dr. Binay Sugla, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. "Our focus is not on servicing vendor equipment but providing and managing services that customers need. IPSource embodies that philosophy by making it easier for telecom providers to roll out the services their customers want and to ensure the quality of those services."

IPSource 2.2 will be available to service providers worldwide by the end of July.
