DSET's ezSwitchAccess Makes Implementation of Key Network Standard Faster and More Economical.

The ezSwitchAccess software application announced by DSET Corporation (NASDAQ: DSET) can streamline and cut the cost of implementing the GR-303 standard for connectivity between remote access devices and central-office switches in telecommunications networks.

The new DSET product offers substantial time-to-market benefits to the suppliers of devices such as remote digital terminals that play an essential role in the delivery of an increasing spectrum of services over the public switched telephone network. These include providing "plain old telephone service" (POTS) as well as ISDN and private line services utilizing wireless local loop, hybrid fiber-coax, ADSL, cable modem, and voice over IP and ATM technologies.

The GR-303 standard ensures consistent connectivity between remote access devices and central office switches by tightly specifying signaling, performance, and operations interfaces. ezSwitchAccess facilitates the implementation of GR-303 by providing suppliers of access devices with a pre-built solution for integrating an embedded operations channel (EOC) and time-slot management channel (TMC) with their products.

Using ezSwitchAccess, an equipment supplier can integrate a full-featured EOC with a remote access device in a matter of weeks instead of months. Similarly, implementation of GR-303 with the pre-integrated TMC provided by ezSwitchAccess significantly reduces the coding work required. ezSwitchAccess, which complements DSET solutions for switch-side (IDT) connectivity, also offers comprehensive support for processor redundancy and operational reliability.
