DS2 Dominates World of Powerline Pavilion at CeBIT 2005; Multiple Suppliers Show Case DS2 Based 200Mbps PLC Equipment.

HANNOVER, Germany -- Multiple suppliers have chosen CeBIT to showcase products and networking devices based on DS2's 200 Mbps chips, the only high-speed powerline chips available today. New products incorporating the Consumer Electronics Association and /Consumer Electronics Show award winning chips dominate the World of Powerline Pavilion at CeBIT. DS2 chips, whose shipments are approaching a million units, are the chips of choice for interoperable powerline communication devices covering any application from metropolitan area networking to integration into consumer electronics devices such as televisions, home theatre sets and IP set-top boxes for triple play. Visitors to CeBIT can see the new products on display at both the DS2 stand and at dedicated supplier stands in the World of Powerline Pavilion (Hall 14, Stand 13). Among the products from over eight different suppliers that have begun shipments and visitors can see on display or demonstrated on the show floor are the following:

At the dedicated Corinex stand visitors can see a demonstration of the PLC-AV generation Powerline products by Corinex with breakthrough speeds of up to 200 Mbps across existing electrical wiring. Audio, streaming high definition video, online gaming, and other high bandwidth applications can easily run simultaneously over networks utilizing these adapters.

Ilevo, a brand of Schneider Electric, unveils a compact powerline repeater that targets both outdoor and indoor PLC applications. Ilevo provides anywhere in the world solutions adapted to the needs of customers.

EBA has a PLC-CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) on display.

At the Mitsubishi Electric  Powerline Communications stand visitors can see a demo of the 200MBPS AV series access system. Repeaters are available as Time Division or Frequency Division technology for the best value and performance ratio and a self-configuration mode ensures maximum "User-friendliness" of the CPE.

ST&T showcases its Powerline Media Adapter for Home Entertainment and Broadband Access, which connects your home A/V systems with broadband services.

Sumitomo Electric Industries  (SEI) unveils its compact 200Mbps CPE designed for Japanese and worldwide Markets. Co designed with the leading Japanese electrical utility, Tepco, it will be used in both home and office applications in Japan. After several months shipping in volume, SEI shall start shipments in Japan as soon as regulation allows.

Toyocom is displaying its Customer Premises Equipment that is designed for location at the user's electricity socket. Its interfaces are VoIP, USB and Eth. QoS enables CPE to manage the bandwidth.

Also on show is a DS2 netdisk PLC which is a network area storage device, supporting NDAs, that allows content from integrated mass media storage units, such as digital audio video or data to be distributed anywhere in the home.

At the World of Powerline Pavilion, DS2 brings the world of high speed Powerline Communications to life with a demonstration that runs simultaneously an interoperable broadband connection for Internet access, telephony and high-speed data transfer and home networking including data, high quality video and audio.
