(Company Evolution).DS Smith plc, a supplier of liquid packaging and dispense dispense /dis·pense/ (-pens´) to prepare medicines for and distribute them to their users. dis·pense v. To prepare and give out medicines. systems through its Rapak and Worldwide Dispensers operations, has strengthened its market position with an agreement to acquire Zewathener GmbH GmbH Gesellschaft mit Beschränkter Haftung (German: limited liability company; business entity) based in Germany. Zewathener is a bag-in-box packaging company working in the wine, dairy, soft drinks, liquid foods, fruit and tomato processing and juices markets. The deal follows DS Smith's recently announced joint venture with AEP AEP - Application Environment Profile Industries Inc, where they have acquired a 50% stake in AEP's bag-in-box liquid packaging operations. Both enhance the company's ability to respond to the needs of international customers and to offer a global partnership. Through Rapak, DS Smith's Liquid Packaging business, they are able to supply the customer with every aspect of a liquid packaging operation, from aseptic aseptic /asep·tic/ (-tik) free from infection or septic material. a·sep·tic adj.
