DRUG INDUSTRY EXCITED BY INTRODUCTION INTO UNITED STATES
OF WOBENZYM N, EUROPE'S LARGEST SELLING ENZYME FORMULA
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Wobenzym N, Europe's top-selling enzyme formula, which, on the basis of its history in Europe, reinforces the body's immune system, has just invaded the United States and both wholesalers and drugstore chains are falling all over themselves to order it.
This remarkable product, created in Germany by one of that nation's leading biochemists, Dr. Karl Ransberger, who heads Mucos Pharma GmbH, the manufacturer of Wobenzym N, was perfected three decades ago after 10 years of clinical testing at a cost exceeding $10 million and has been selling more than 500 million tablets in Europe annually.
Inasmuch as the body's immune system is one of the most important -- if not the most important -- factor in maintaining good health, the public has exhibited the same enthusiasm as the pharmaceutical firms. For example, when a small advertisement appeared in the Los Angeles Times on Oct. 19, Marlyn Inc., the Scottsdale firm which owns the American distribution rights to Wobenzym N, received more than 250 inquiries on the day the ad appeared.
Moreover, one of the nation's largest drug wholesalers, Bergen Brunswig, placed orders for each of its 21 distribution centers throughout the United States and other chain drug stores such as Long's, Payless Drug, Good Neighbor Pharmacies, Major Value Pharmacies, Horton & Converse, Capital Drugs and others soon followed.
Such famed nutritionists as Dr. Jeffrey Bland, professor of nutritional biochemistry at the University of Puget Sound, reports that as many as 20 million Americans suffer from digestive disorders which impair their nutrition. The need for enzyme supplementation, he adds, can mean the difference between a healthy, productive life and a life marked by ill health and low vitality.
Bland is supported by Dr. Humbart Santillo, who says, "Enzyme deficiencies are America's No. 1 nutritional problem and as responsible for more disease than all other nutritional shortages combined."
Adds Dr. Anthony Cichoke, M.A., D.C, D.A., D.A.C.B.N, in an article in the February issue of Let's Live in which Cichoke discusses AIDS, "The fate of an HIV-positive person depends upon a strong immune system -- the body's defense mechanism. It is crucial for people diagnosed as HIV-positive to strengthen their immune systems by adopting a sensible lifestyle and diet and following a supplement program based on individual needs."
Jean Barrier, who heads Los Angeles-based Barrier Distribution Co., Marlyn's national sales representative, says, "On the basis of these early sales and the excitement engendered by Wobenzym N since its recent introduction to the American market, I predict that in time to come, Wobenzym N will become Marlyn's largest seller."
