DRS Technologies Names Kip L. Hansen Vice President, Government Relations.

DRS Technologies, Inc. (ASE: DRS) announced today that Kip L. Hansen has joined the company as vice president, government relations.

Mr. Hansen is a senior manager with experience in directing the administration, marketing, congressional liaison and public affairs support for defense-related program management and business development initiatives. He has a strong background in formulating, managing and executing successful legislative strategies.

Before joining DRS, Mr. Hansen was director, congressional relations with Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTNA, RTNB), where he was responsible for developing and executing legislative plans to support Air Force and ballistic missile defense programs. Prior to that, he was manager, government relations with Standard Missile Company, a joint venture formed by Raytheon Company and the former Hughes Missile Systems Company, where he developed and implemented strategic marketing plans for the Tactical Missile System program and led a multi-company integrated management team responsible for implementing joint marketing plans.

Mr. Hansen retired from the U.S. Air Force as Lieutenant Colonel, concluding his 22-year military career as deputy director, external affairs with the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization of the Department of Defense, where he developed and executed public affairs and legislative support for a multifaceted, multibillion-dollar defense program. His career with the Air Force spanned a range of operational and staff assignments. As program integrator, he directed a multi-agency, multi-contractor effort for a large procurement program with the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization. Earlier, he was Chief, Warfighting Concepts Plans Branch in - more - Washington, D.C. and Chief, Missile Employment Plans Branch at Headquarters, Strategic Air Command in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mr. Hansen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a Master of Arts degree in public administration from the University of Northern Colorado.
