DRS Technologies Names Joseph E. Hart as Vice President, Marketing, Aviation and Unmanned Programs.

DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:DRS) announced today that Joseph E. Hart has been named vice president, marketing, aviation and unmanned programs, at the company's Washington Operations in Arlington, Virginia.

In this new position, Mr. Hart will oversee the Washington area marketing of all U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force aviation programs, as well as all product lines associated with unmanned vehicle technology, including air, land and maritime surface and subsurface. He also will remain engaged in the marketing and business development aspects of the company's DRS Unmanned Technologies unit in Mineral Wells, Texas. Mr. Hart joined DRS in 2002.

For the past two years, Mr. Hart served as senior vice president with the company's DRS Unmanned Technologies unit, focused on growing the company's UAV line of business. He was responsible for the oversight of UAV manufacturing and the relocation of the unit to a new facility, which significantly increased the capability to develop and produce UAV systems. He also has been successful in building the company's stature as a credible player in the tactical UAV business.

Before coming to DRS, Mr. Hart spent four years as senior program manager and contract integrator at Anteon International Corporation (NYSE:ANT), providing support to the aircraft carrier program office and DD(X) future surface combatant programs. His responsibilities included the development of Congressional program advocacy briefings and materials to expand the knowledge of aircraft carrier capabilities and the direction of future carrier programs.

Mr. Hart has had a distinguished career with the U.S. Navy and spent 30 years as a Naval officer and aviator in tactical, leadership and command positions, involving all aspects of carrier aviation and Naval installation management. Additionally, he supported the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, providing oversight of Navy and Marine Corps outsourcing and privatization initiatives.

He has received numerous awards and citations, including the Defense Superior Service Medal for his performance as defense attache to the United Kingdom. He also received two Legion of Merit awards and two Meritorious Service Medals related to superior performance in Naval command positions, including command of the Navy's Master Jet Base at Lemoore, California.

Mr. Hart earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Miami University (Ohio). He is a graduate of the Defense Intelligence Agency's Attache Training program and the Naval Aviation Officer Safety School.
