Work for this contract will be accomplished by the company's DRS Flight Safety and Communications unit based in Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada. DRS will provide a production prototype of the SIRIUS Signal Processing unit and Optical Lens assembly. Additional contracts to equip Dutch and Canadian naval vessels are anticipated. The German and the Australian navies have indicated interest in the SIRIUS system, as well. DRS Technologies chairman, president and chief executive officer Mark S. SIRIUS provides continuous passive horizon search for sea skimming anti-ship missiles, threat identification, cueing and track correlation, engagement guidance and target assessment.
