This latest award is the result of the exercise of an option on an existing contract with a total value of approximately $14.2 million, including options, initially awarded to the company in October 1997. For this contract, DRS is producing more than twenty of these surface search and navigation radar systems for several of the Navy's most technologically advanced surface ships, including the new DDG-51 Aegis class destroyers, as well as the Spanish Navy's F-100 class frigates.
