Award Establishes DRS as the Computerized

Boresight Systems Supplier for These Aircraft

DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: DRS) announced today that it has received a contract to provide Computerized Multi-Platform Boresight Systems (CMBS) for the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-15 Eagle aircraft of the U.S. Air Force.

The award strategically positions the company to potentially receive future orders to support additional aircraft.

DRS received the $2.5 million contract from Modern Technologies Corporation, a subsidiary of MTC Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MTCT), in Dayton, Ohio. The CMBS will support the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Warner Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. CMBS is considered essential ground support equipment that aligns systems of the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-15 Eagle to ensure they hit their targets. Work for this award will be performed by the company's DRS Photronics unit in Oakland, New Jersey.

DRS's CMBS uses a unique Infrared Laser Enhanced Triaxial Measurement System applicable to various aircraft, each with its own set of aircraft specific adapters. The system has a footprint that is significantly less than current systems utilized by the U.S. Air Force. User-friendly, the system provides a substantial reduction in maintenance workload, personnel training time and boresight time, as well as a 30 percent reduction in annual boresighting costs.

DRS's proprietary Enhanced Triaxial Measurement System is a single-beam, laser-based, electro-optical device that provides simultaneous and continuous measurement of sighting systems on three axes. This core technology is the foundation of DRS's strategy to provide boresight products with a common application across multiple military air platforms.

DRS produces similar systems used with the Apache and Apache Longbow attack helicopters of the U.S. Army and British Army, the AH-1F Cobra helicopters of the Army National Guard, and the AH-1W Cobra helicopters of the U.S. Marine Corps, which are part of the company's Multiple Platform Boresight Equipment (MPBE) product line. These systems ensure synchronization and target accuracy when weapons are released. DRS's MPBE systems also are used on the Air Force's AC-130U gunship, the Cobra helicopters of Taiwan, and the Cobra and Apache helicopters of other allied countries through previously awarded U.S. foreign military sales programs. The CMBS, which is a ruggedized Pentium-based computer system, initially was developed for the Hawk 100 aircraft for BAE Systems in the United Kingdom. The new technology provides built-in technical manuals and an improved interface that reduces the time to boresight an aircraft. To date, DRS has delivered more than 250 MPBE systems to domestic and international customers.
