DRIVE-THROUGH CHEMIST; Elderly motorist smashes into shop.

THIS dramatic photograph shows an elderly driver's car embedded in a pharmacy.

The unnamed motorist is thought to have turned into a parking space and hit the accelerator not the brake.

The silver Toyota Yaris SR ploughed through the front door of Rowlands Pharmacy in Rhos Road, Rhos on Sea at 3pm yesterday.

PC Roger Brazel said the local driver suffered a minor hand injury but did not need hospital treatment.

Police are investigating.

A Rowlands Pharmacy shop assistant said: "The girl who saw it coming through the window shrieked. I don't thing it's something she will get over very easily. But it wasn't a ram raid ram raid

Bay of Colwyn town councillor John Davies, working in Rhos Newsagents across the road from the accident scene, said: "I just saw the car driving forward and then, bang. Luckily no-one was on the pavement."

Shopper Pam Marsh, of Everard Road, Rhos on Sea, with her son Adrian, 22, added: "This is the most exciting thing to happen in Rhos on Sea in ages."
